Pre-Inspection
Our technicians will inspect your area rugs for stains, dye and color issues, existing structural damage, pet urine odors and damage, and general cleanability. We will review and potential issues we discover that might affect our ability to properly clean your rugs.
Dry Soil Removal
We use a variety of methods including harmonic vibration, vacuuming, and compressed air over the front and back sides of your rugs to remove soil and debris that weekly vacuuming at home might miss.
Area Rug Cleaning
We will customize the cleaning process for the needs of each individual rug. With patented tools and equipment designed specifically for the cleaning of oriental rugs, we provide a thorough and effective, yet gentle, cleaning process. Depending on the particular fibers, dyes, soils, and construction of the rug, we’ll draw from a wide range of different cleaning techniques.
Rinsing and Drying
Following a thorough cleaning, rugs are rinsed until the water runs clear. We then place the rugs in our humidity-controlled drying space until completely dry before receiving a final fringe and pile grooming.
Pet Odor Removal
If you request our Guaranteed Pet Odor Removal service and your rug qualifies for the service, we can offer a rug cleaning process that is perfect for removal of pet odors caused by urine. We soak the rug in order to breakdown the urine salts that cause the odor. We then immerse and flush the rug to remove all the contaminants.
Custom-fit Rug Pads
Oriental rugs can experience much stress and wear. The right rug pad will prevent this and add years of life to the rug.

Pick Up & Delivery
We are currently offering FREE basic pickup and delivery of area rugs to our designated service areas located on the map. Minimum cleaning charges apply.

The Cleaning Studio is locally owned and operated by the Meintz family. The Cleaning Studio was created out of a need for a service provider who specializes in the care of rugs in McHenry County and Lake County. We have been cleaning and caring for rugs in Northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin since 2005.
David Meintz is a Certified Master Textile Cleaner by the IICRC, a Wool Safe® Fiber Care Specialist, and was even called to the White House in Washington DC to restore the carpets in the West Wing.
